Comar Mews, Hartington Grove, Cambridge

Development of 3 new, contemporary houses

Completed January 2016
GDV £2.4 million

We secured the contract to build Comar Mews following a competitive tender process and it was the first development on which we worked with Sawtooth Developments – a local, Cambridge area developer.

A city centre development is often a bounded site and there are the inevitable party wall agreements and site access difficulties to overcome.  This development had its share of those.  It was a tight site and construction was from boundary to boundary.

The houses were subterranean with a timber frame construction above clad in torched cedar and zinc.  The ultra modern palette continued throughout with cantilever first floors, seamless glass balconies, aluminium windows and doors.  High-end internal fixtures and fittings completed the contemporary look.

The three houses at Comar Mews form a funky-looking modern terrace.  The nature of the build, the site problems we overcame and the end result made this a very satisfying project on which to work for a first-time client.

Testimonial

“While Comar Mews was the first time that Dean & Dean worked for us, the company’s experience on city centre sites gave it an edge when it came to the competitive tender. In pitching and pricing the project and through to the completed development, Dean & Dean performed and delivered.”

Simon Gusterson, Managing Director, Sawtooth Developments
