Development of 14 new apartments

Appointed by local developer Learig Developments, we built a four storey apartment block on a Design & Build contract.

This New Street development is one of the tightest sites we’ve encountered, to date, in terms of the ratio of dwelling to plot size.

The former use of the site necessitated piled foundations and this, coupled with building a multiple dwelling unit on a restrictive site, proved a real challenge.

The nature of the building required partial steel framing, concrete separating floors, in-situ cast stairwells and a robust fire strategy – all alongside a 5 metre deep mains sewer connection in the adjacent public highway.

A clever design and a focused approach from the developer when it came to the construction brief and, during the build, this enabled us to keep up the pace on the development. 

The 14 apartments were delivered on time and all in the block were soon sold to the satisfaction of all parties involved in the development.
